As gas prices continue to soar, so do the tempers of people at the pumps.

Some of these angry customers are aiming their ire at convenience store clerks, whose jobs seem to be getting tougher with the times.

Roberta Adkins, a traveling manager for Circle K stations, has noticed the change in customers' attitudes.

"It is not all that uncommon for people to come in upset. They scream, they holler, they cuss," Adkins said Friday at one of her stores at U.S. Highway 17 and North Shelmore in Mount Pleasant.

"I actually think the more money they have, the worse they can be."
