The number of cars lining Robbie Owens Jr.'s street in the Village Green neighborhood Tuesday reflects what those closest to him knew: He was a popular young man.

Owens, 17, set to start his senior year at West Ashley High School next month, was killed early Tuesday in a single-car wreck. He was less than a mile from his West Ashley home.
