Woman says she went on 1 date with detective

A woman who told authorities that a Hanahan police detective raped her at gunpoint on Sunday said that on their first and only date she knew something wasn't right.

On the other side of town, a man who watched the officer grow up in the Waylyn subdivision in North Charleston said he has trouble believing that Cassie Watson could commit such a crime.

Watson, 40, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He remained at the Charleston County Detention Center on Monday night. His total bond was set at $325,000.
