Denny and Jenifer Blevins watched as the fire devoured their house of 17 years.

“This is new for me, that’s for sure,” Denny Blevins said. “I guess it’s time to start anew.”

The one-story home sustained severe scarring and a deep fissure in the back of the house as firefighters from Dooms, New Hope, Augusta County, Grottoes, Fishersville and Waynesboro blasted streams of water inside.

“We were just watchin’ a movie,” said Trevor Blevins, 17, hugging his girlfriend tight.

He turned to his father, “I think I remember back when it was built.”

“Well, you’re gonna remember again,” his father responded.
