Timothy Cobb Jr. had just escaped an early-morning nightmare, only to find himself thrust into another.

Startled in his sleep by the image of being shot in the knee, Cobb, 28, jolted into consciousness at about 4:30 a.m. today, waking his father, who had been sleeping nearby.

“I think I freaked my dad out, and he kicked over a little space heater,” Cobb said. “I just woke up from a nightmare or a dream or something.”

Within moments, the 20-foot camper the two men inhabited became shrouded in flames. They rushed out the door, Cobb said, alive but not unscathed.
